Printers not redirecting on windows terminal server 2003
This was a very specific case where I ran into today
There are a few things that can cause a printer to not redirect in this case
1) Their was no problem with the computer as different users could redirect printers from the same computer
2) There was no problem with the overall server configuration as other users could redirect to the same far computer
3) No driver differences between the two as they are the same as other peoples and people can redirect from the local with the same printers
So it appears to be user related BUT
4) In their AD account under environment local things were set right to redirect printers as well as disks and other resources
So not a problem with their account at least in AD
In this case (though I have not seen it before)
Resolution:
Delete all local profiles on the terminal servers and rebuild roaming profile from scratch (if in your case you do not have roaming profiles this may be different)
A new profile across the board resolved the issue
A simple resolution but not standard at all
